Open a new document. Choose the Ellipse tool and draw an image as shown below.
Choose the object and paint it a blue colour.
Choose the Ellipse tool again and make an image as shown below.
Choose both the objects.
Navigate to Windows > Pathfinder.
Choose ‘Subtract from the shape area’.
This is what you get.
Navigate to Effect > Stylize > Inner Glow.
Choose the following settings.
This will be the result.
Draw a new ellipse and place it over the last image as shown.
